Terms of Service

By using the DailyEnglish application ("Service", "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
DailyEnglish is a mobile application designed for learning English, offering the following features:
- Leveled reading texts based on CEFR standards
- Vocabulary learning and review system
- Comprehension quizzes and vocabulary quizzes
- Text-to-Speech (TTS) support
- Gamification system (XP, badges, streaks, leaderboard)
- Progress tracking and personalized learning
2. Account Creation and Security
- A valid email address or Google account is required to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.
- You are responsible for the security of your account credentials (including password).
- If you notice unauthorized access to your account, immediately notify us at support@getdailyenglish.com.
- Users under the age of 13 may not create an account.
3. Free and Premium Service
The App offers two service tiers: free (freemium) and premium subscription.
Free tier: Limited daily readings, basic word translation, limited quiz attempts.
Premium tier: Unlimited reading, advanced TTS, full vocabulary saving, unlimited quizzes, priority support.
4. Subscription, Payment, and Cancellation
Important — Auto-Renewal: Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. The subscription fee is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Prices are displayed on the store page and include applicable taxes.
- A free trial period may be offered. If you cancel before the trial ends, no charge will be applied.
- Subscription cancellation must be done through the respective store's settings:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → DailyEnglish → Cancel
- Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → DailyEnglish → Cancel
- A cancelled subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google. DailyEnglish cannot directly process refunds for store-based purchases.
5. User Content and License
Content you create within the App (saved words, notes, profile information) belongs to you. However, by using this content in the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use it as necessary to provide the Service.
6. Acceptable Use
The following behaviors are prohibited and may result in account suspension or permanent termination:
- Using the App for malicious purposes or to harm others
- Attempting to access other users' accounts
- Copying, distributing, or commercially exploiting content without permission
- Performing actions that may disrupt or impair the App's functionality
- Using automated bots or scripts to gain unfair advantage
- Creating accounts with false or misleading information
- Manipulating the leaderboard or gamification system
7. Intellectual Property
All content in the App — reading texts, images, audio, software code, design, badges, animations — is owned by DailyEnglish or its licensors and is protected under national and international copyright laws. No content may be reproduced, modified, or distributed without permission.
8. Service Level
- We aim to provide the App with the highest availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
- Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
- We reserve the right to discontinue the Service at any time. In such case, refunds will be issued for the remaining period of active subscriptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- DailyEnglish does not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Learning outcomes vary from user to user; no specific learning outcome is guaranteed.
- DailyEnglish's liability is limited to the total subscription fees paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.
10. Account Deletion
- You may delete your account from Settings → Delete My Account within the App.
- Account deletion is irreversible.
- Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days of the deletion request.
- If you have an active subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel it — please cancel through the store first.
Warning: Before deleting your account, make sure you have cancelled your active subscription through the App Store or Google Play. Otherwise, auto-renewal may continue.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms. You will be notified of significant changes via in-app notification and/or email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
- Disputes shall first be resolved amicably.
- Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices.
- For disputes within the scope of consumer rights, Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts also have jurisdiction.
- EU residents may also seek resolution through their local consumer protection bodies.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.
